The “Tap the Experts” program is in partnership with Alexander Barthet, a Board Certified Construction Lawyer, Leisha Austin, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA); and Thamarr Griffith, an award winning marketing executive. The mission of the U.S. DOT OSDBU is to provide opportunities, technical assistance, and financial services to the small business community across the nation, making sure they are treated fairly and have an opportunity to compete.

The U.S. Department of Transportation, Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), Southeast Region Office is launching a new program connecting knowledgeable experts to area small businesses active in the transportation industry. The “Tap the Experts” program will assist eligible participating firms by partially underwriting the fees associated with services including contract reviews, construction lien, construction accounting and business financial statement assistance, as well as honing marketing capabilities to make successful pitches to potential clients and prospective customers.

The “Tap the Experts” program is in partnership with Alexander Barthet, a Board Certified Construction Lawyer, Leisha Austin, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA); and Thamarr Griffith, an award winning executive. Launched in Florida, the program is available (excluding legal) in Alabama, Mississippi, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. In order to participate, firms must be certified as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) or a Small Business Administration (SBA) designated business (SDB, WOSB, SDVOSB, HubZone). Businesses also must be in good standing and working or bidding on current projects that are in whole or partially funded by a U.S. DOT Operating Administration. Assistance is on a first come, first served basis.

The U.S. DOT Small Business Office provides opportunities, technical assistance, and financial services to the small business community across the nation, making sure they are treated fairly and have an opportunity to compete. This program is one more step in a long standing commitment to the small business community.
